and Passion of Ali Wood" |
|
Ali Wood was the first Australian pianist to make an American debut at Carnegie Hall. She has performed over 500 concerts in 26 countries on 6 continents. She has performed for heads of state and royalty and works extensively with young musicians and underprivileged children.
Ali began piano lessons at the age of 4 and at 13 became the youngest pianist in Australia to be awarded the Performers Diploma with Distinction. Ali says she was very fortunate to have one of Australia's leading music educators of gifted young pianists, Mr Ian McLachlan, as her teacher and personal manager for the last 15 years. She was the Arts Award winner for the Young Australian of the Year Awards and the recipient of the emeritus medal for music from the University of The Andes, in Venezuela. She is a Paul Harris Fellow. [ Just Classical | the vegas show | Links | Admin Files ] |
